love received...love given

you are only able to truly love when you truly have been loved. we human
beings need this natural channel to receive in order to give. none of
us have the capacity to give without at some point receiving, to serve
after being served, and to care only after being cared for. i'm sure it
must be at the core of human psychology, the necessity to give
significance after one receives significance.

isn't that the way of Father's love toward us? isn't that what Jesus
received and what allowed Him to give? ...in receiving God's love, we
able to love others, and in some ways, not become jealous, malicious, or
indifferent towards them - we can somewhat actively care.

you see, true love IS About US, About Him, and About others. it does not
remain in us - it is not static. true love is free, given away. love
is the priceless gift that transforms, renews, and inspires. it is the
undergirding power of God that allows the restoration of fallen life, to
satisfy justice, yet offer grace and mercy. it is the way we are
admitted and received into the Kingdom, and become privileged bearers
and participants of its expansion.

1 John 4:9-12, 19

9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

19We love because he first loved us.

sweetly broken - Jeremy Riddles

this is my new favorite song. it's very poetic and points to the
duality of God's love and justice at the cross. man...i have to say, i
was tearing this morning when i heard it again on the radio.

God's justice...God's love... the cross...it brings me to my knees, it
sets me on fire, and i am sweetly broken.

my gosh...check out the lyrics!

------------------
Sweetly Broken - Jeremy Riddle

To the cross I look,
to the cross I cling
Of it's suffering I do drink,
of it's work I do sing

For on it my Savior,
both bruised and crushed
Showed that God is love
and God is just

Chorus:
At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love, I'm
sweetly broken, wholly surrendered

Verse 2:
What a priceless gift,
undeserved life
Have I been given
through Christ crucified

You've called me out of death,
You've called me into life
And I was under Your wrath,
now through the cross I'm reconciled

Bridge:
In awe of the cross I must confess
How wondrous Your redeeming love and
How great is Your faithfulness

stiff mouse

man...i guess i'm a screamer afterall. (not a high pitch sketchy one
though)

we have, or had a mouse running around downstairs, where my bedroom is
located. it was running around last week when i was sleeping. the next
morning, i was like, i'm going for the sure thing, kill that sucker with
poison. so i got some from safeway and deposited all over my room.
after a week, it was still running around. arrggh.

but last night, i looked at the poison, and noticed that a lot of it was
eaten up. i was talking to my sister while walking to my room, and upon
turning around, i saw the rodent at the front of my bed, near the
entrance of the door. i was like..."aaahh!!! the mouse! aaaahhhhh!" i
almost stepped on it. after calming down, i got some gloves, and a
paper bag, and tapped him into it.

yeah, he was definitely dead. i think the poison causes some kind of
paralysis b/c the mouse was stiff. he looked pretty full too...i guess
he ate a lot of the poison. anyhow....maybe that's too much details.

i hope there aren't anymore.

btw, i killed a mouse before, but never with poison. it's weird that it
was just lying there dead. funny, one time i purposely trapped myself
in the bathroom with this other mouse. i was like, crap, i don't want
you dropping all over my house. so i had a broom, and kept on trying to
whack it. well, i finally got it. but i had my adrenaline going, so i
wasn't as much scare as concerned with it escaping.

mouse stories. i have another one, but it was from a friend of a friend.
oh well..k..back to work

music and heaven

man...music must be one of the elixirs of the soul. (well, i guess it
comes from the soul to begin with. ) but yeah, imagine how empty life
would be without music. i'm not just referring to the audible type, but
anything that accurately portrays the context and message that causes
the soul to reflect, to identify, to feel, and to care. if heaven is to
be filled with ceaseless worship, imagine the fullness of the "music",
the context and message.

some people mistakenly think heaven as something boring, that people
would be like drones before an almighty God. however, i imagine it to be
quite the opposite; it will be filled with freedom, that people would be
like beloved children dancing and singing to their father. maybe it's
like a party that never stops, and never grows old. huh..let's get it
started then...boom the music! (come Jesus come!)
